To promote, foster, protect and advance the health, welfare, and well-being of the community and its civic, educational, social, and recreational inter­ests, through the concerned action of its members

To provide a medium through which its membership may be able to confer, communicate, consult, and cooperate with private, governmental, and other agencies in matters of common interest
